I cook a lot of mediterranean dishes at home, so homemade tzatziki sauce is a must have! It’s flavorful and easy to make with only a few ingredients. If you’ve ever had a gyro, it’s the cool sauce it’s topped with. The store bought stuff just doesn’t cut it for me as it’s usually watered down. Plain Greek yogurt, lemon, garlic, dill, cucumber. Mix and chill for an hour. That’s it! It’s versatile too, used as a topping on meats or as a dip for warm pita or naan bread. Store in an airtight container and use within 3 days. Enjoy!

Tzatziki

Recipe by Barbie Gminder

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Greek yogurt

  • 1 English cucumber, finely chopped

  • 4 tbs minced garlic

  • 3 tbs chopped dill

  • Juice from 1 1/2 lemons

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, stirring until all ingredients are mixed
  • Chill for at least 1 hour mins before serving
